Workforce planning is a set of activities and tasks that enable the managers in the enterprise to analyze, estimate, and evaluate the enterprise’s workforce needs, which meet the objectives of the enterprise’s workforce through short-, medium-, and long-term strategies. Workforce planning can also be defined as the process of obtaining the right number and quality of qualified individuals to work in the right jobs at the right time, to ensure that the enterprise can perform its tasks and duties efficiently and effectively, as well as to fulfill its economic and social role in the surrounding environment, which forms a subsystem of planning that intends to achieve a balance between supply and demand of workforce.
